On the 8th of December my project Rogier will be part of the exhibition at NEW ATLANTIS | DIGITAL DARK AGE. Also, I’ll give an artist talk about my work in general. Hope to see you there!
I finally extended my online existence to the platform of Patty Morgan.
At this moment I have one fucking follower, #itssomething. Anyway, if you’re on Patty Morgan, feel free to follow me!
I’ll be uploading lots of photos of my work on that profile, it definitely looks more appealing than uploading things on the pay-me-or-no-one-sees-your-posts-Facebook…
During the Beyond Festival in Liempde I’ll host an artist talk about my Rogier project! Hope to see you there.
My video DPRK will be shown at This Art Fair from 30th of December until the 3rd of January!
I’m looking forward to see you over there, I also created some very fancy postcards with stills from the video as gifts for visitors.
More info about the fair can be found >here<.
My participation in this fair is supported by the >Mondriaan Fund<.
Some photos of the opening day of Project Rogier at Galerie ‘t Atrium in Zutphen (NL)!

Tomorrow I’ll be having an artist talk at MOTI (Museum of the Image), Breda about the Rogier project.
There will be lots of other interesting guests as well, so feel free to drop by if you happen to be around Breda tomorrow evening.
The event starts at 19:30hr, entrance is free of charge.
Opening tomorrow: TKW#5 (temporary art store) at In De Ruimte, Utrecht, The Netherlands.
All upbringings from this temporary art store will go to livebuild.org, a charity organization. Grab your chance to get a copy of the project Rogier book at a 30% discount, and feel good about it because you’re supporting a water project in Lobagne.

Well allright… I won’t bring my own beamer since I don’t own one, but luckily a friend of mine was so kind to lend me his. The idea is that artists can sign up for this event and show their work during one evening, as long as they bring their own beamer. Nice, right?
Setup Medialab, located in Utrecht, The Netherlands, was so kind to make a promo video about me and the work I will be showing at this BYOB at TivoliVreedenburg on the 26th:
The work I’ll be presenting there will be the DPRK project. Some shots are included in the video below, among which a short part of the little kid’s performance which was shown to us at an after school care facility.
Thanks goes to Anna Berlis (website) for shooting the video. I really like it!
It was a busy, busy week in Amsterdam. The presentation of the games in the live radio show was quite successful. Video documentation was made, also quite successfully. I’m a happy camper!
More material will be online soon.

DE KIJKDOOS is proud to host solo exhibition Rogier by Joyce Overheul.
DE KIJKDOOS COMMENT by Suzie Herman & Janneke van der Vloed.

DE KIJKDOOS would be pleased to see you at the opening on Friday 4th April 2014 at 5pm till 7pm.
Reading out loud by Joyce Overheul at 6pm
The book will be available for a great price!

Sometimes you forget to do stuff…. And sometimes you forget to update your website properly for.. 3 years? And yep, that’s what I did.
So I was stuck at home waiting for my flu to go taunt someone else, and I decided to build myself a new website. You know, those boring jobs that can take days… And that’s probably also the reason I didn’t update my previous website that often, and when I did it, I didn’t really do a good job.
Here it is, tahdahdaaah! Go have a look: www.j-o-y-c-e.com (link opens in a new window)
Short summary: less text, more and larger images, less unnecessary shit… 🙂
Since websites are still these organic things that keep on changing and changing, feel free to let me know what you think of this update! Feel free to share your suggestions for future updates or minor changes.
